January 10, 2014 - Images from the Hermann Trophy Award Dinner
October 11, 2013 - I-70 was humming with traffic between the Gateway City and KC as fans traveled west to see the USA MNT take on Jamaica in a game they went on to win 2:0. The most impressive thing about the event were the fans and this tremendous facility in Kansas City. Why doesn't America's Soccer City have a facility like this and an MLS team to play in it?    Take a look at some of the pictures...

May 23, 2013
- Two of the top EPL teams chose St. Louis to play an exhibition friendly and soccer fans responded, making this the best attended sporting event ever.  That is really saying something considering that World Series Baseball was played here.  The atmosphere was festive and folks from enjoyed a terrific game that ended in a 4:3 win for Manchester City.  Take a look at some of the pictures...

April 2013 - Images from the World Cup Qualifiers ...
STL United is pleased to share some images from the World Cup Qualifiers played in March.  Gonzalo Fernandez and Family braved blizzard conditions in Colorado watching our boys play Costa Rica, while Paul Duker braved the cauldron of the Azteca Stadium to watch our match against Mexico.  I'm sure that they provided enough positive energy to help us gain a total of 4 points from these matches.  Take a look...

June 2012 - Goodbye Dr. Welch
A Memorial Service will be held at Graham Chapel at Washington University at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to  The Dr. Michael J. Welch Foundation.

February 7, 2012  -  The Saint Louis soccer community lost one of it's most treasured posessions.  Harry Joseph Keough was born November 15, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri and is a former American soccer defender who played on the United States national team in their 1–0 upset of England at the 1950 FIFA World Cup. He spent most of his club career in his native St. Louis, winning a national junior championship, two National Challenge Cup and seven National Amateur Cup titles. He coached the Saint Louis University men's soccer team to five NCAA Men's Soccer Championships. He will be missed!  ...more here...

June 13, 2010  -  A terrific gathering at Soccer Park of nearly 400 fans to watch the match between England and the USA.  TV crews and reporters were on hand to record the historic event and we'll be posting more pictures and videos as they come in.  Nice story in the St. Louis Post Dispatch about the event.

June 11, 2010  -  It's the World Cup opener and those that could, played hookie and came out to watch the game between Mexico and the host nation South Africa (1:1).  A good portion of the Keough clan were on hand to catch the game at OB Clark in Brentwood. Take a look...

June 5, 2010  -  It is with much sadness that we report the death of Ahmed Eltawmi.  Ahmed was killed on the evening of June 4th in a brutal shooting outside of his apartment building in Maplewood.  Ahmed was well liked as both a University City business man and fellow soccer player.  On the pitch he is best remembered as a striker with a rifle right footed shot.  He has been part of the STLUFC Senior squad for some time.  A memorial service is planned at the Daar-ul-Islam Mosque at 1:30 PM on 6/6/2010.

June 6 - 3 PM  -  I just returned from the Funeral Home and the Memorial Service.  The Senior Soccer Community was very well represented.  Ahmed had an uncle that lives here in St. Louis along with brothers and sisters that survived him back in Libya.  His Footie Family filled part of the void.  We will miss him! >>More in our tribute to Ahmed<<

March 21, 2010  -  A crowd of approximately 70 people braved the cool and rainy weather and early kick-off time to meet at Tigin's for the Manchester United v Liverpool match.  We were joined by some of the staff and players from AC St. Louis and Athletica.  Ked Godat along with AC St. Louis Head Coach Claude Anelka and Director of Athletic Development Francisco Filho were there.  Joining them were Jack Traynor (defender), Chad Becker (GK) and Elise Weber from our friends at Athletica.
Also on hand was Jack Reese of the Crudem Foundation.  Jack gave a presentation of the work his foundation is doing in the earthquake devastated regions of Haiti.  Please give their web site a look and give to this worthy cause if you are able.
Come take a look at the pictures from the event!
March 15, 2010  -  Maybe you saw the movie but now yopu can read "The rest of the story" about Mr. Joe Gaetjens, the man that scored the goal against England in the 1950 World Cup.
February 7, 2010  -  A crowd of approximately 30 people came together at Tigin's Irish Pub to watch the Chelsea vs. Arsenal match.  I can't speak for everyone that was present, but I found the atmosphere, food and service delightful.  Come and join us the for the next event.  I took some pictures and put them together in a slideshow for your viewing pleasure.
December 13, 2009  -  A great turnout for the Liverpool v Arsenal match. Unfortunately for the Reds fans, the Gunners came out on top. It was a good time and we were treated well by our host.
Mostly Scousers, some Gooners, all good guys!

November 21, 2009  -  Tom Schwarz just returned from a trip to London where he had the opportunity to mingle with the Chelsea faithful for the Chelsea v Manchester United match.  Take a look at some of the images he provided...
October 4, 2009  - A fair sized crowd was on hand to watch the Chelsea vs. Liverpool game on Sunday morning.  It was a great time in a football-friendly environment.  There was a free raffle, a breakfast buffet, a beer special served up in Manchester United glasses, and a just about equal number of Chelsea and Liverpool supporters.  The Chelsea fans had more to cheer about as their side beat the Reds 2:0.  Take a look at the slideshow...
August 31, 2009  -  Kyle Patterson, a four-year starter at Saint Louis University and now a midfielder for the Los Angeles Galaxy, visited St. Louis over the Labor Day weekend. On Labor Day, Patterson visited with members of the St. Frances Cabrini eighth-grade team; he had coached many of the players with the STL United youth team a couple years back. Patterson is in his first year of professional ball, after a decorated college career at SLU, which followed several years of club ball in his native England. While meeting with the Cabrini players, he spoke to the team at half-time, then stuck around for autographs and a tee-shirt giveaway following the early-morning match.  Take a look at some of the pictures
August 26, 2009  -  STL United FC fan Nate sent us this picture of himself and Heidi at the entrance of the Manchester United tunnel at Old Trafford.  We normally won't post anything having to do with Manchester United and their fans, but thought we might make an exception this time since the image was shown on the Football Phone-In Show with Nick Webster and Eric Wylander.  Take a look!
August 20, 2009  -  An article about STL United FC on WDKF, written by our friend Andrew, now making a living in Germany.  ... read the article ...
August 12, 2009  -  Our friend Paul "Duke" Dueker made the journey to Mexico City and the Azteca Stadium with the hope that the USA could finally break the long standing losing streak (22-1-0) against their southern neighbor on their home turf.  He will have to make the trip again sometime because the US failed to capitalize on an early lead to lose the game 2:1.  Paul had to put up with the taunts, the smog and congestion, but thoroughly enjoyed the food and drink, the excitement of sitting in a crowd of 105,000 football fanatics, the beautiful senoritas, and some great fellowship with his fellow travelers as well as Mexican Nationals.  Take a look at the pictures and video...
August 1-2, 2009  -  The competition in the over 50 bracket in the Mid America Games held annually in Columbia, Missouri gets tougher every year.  This year it boiled down to 3 St. Louis teams and a team from Kansas City in the finals.  The STL United Seniors managed to secure the Bronze in a very spirited game against another St. Louis team.  The gold went to the Mid Rivers team and the silver to a team from South St. Louis.  For a larger image of the STL United Senior team, CLICK HERE.  For a pic of our sister team, The University City Reds, CLICK HERE.  For a slideshow from the event, CLICK HERE
August 2, 2009  -  Mike Sorber, our US Mens National Team assistant coach arranged for a little Birthday celebration for his dad on his 80th Birthday.  The event was held at Barristers with lots of family and friends in attendance.  Happy Birthday Pete!  Take a look at some of the pictures from the event...
July 23, 2009  -  Take a look at the pictures that our friend George Gansner sent us from the Rose Bowl.  He was on hand to officiate the Chelsea vs. Inter Milan Friendly.
June 28, 2009  -  It was standing room only at Barrister's for the Confederations Cup Final between the USA and Brazil. There were quite a few Brazil supporters on hand as well.  They were very vocal at the start of the game, but then got quieter after the first US goal and were silenced by the second unanswered US goal during the first half of play.  Of course, there was reason to resume the dancing, singing and celebration after Brazil equalized and then went ahead to win the Cup 3:2.  A good showing by both teams, a great crowd, good food and lots of beer.  Take a look at the pictures and videos.
May 27, 2009  -  Many, many played hookie from work and home to gather at Barrister's for the Champions League Final between Manchester United and Barcelona FC.  Barcelona took home the trophy but all of us enjoyed a great game and the terrific atmosphere.  Take a look at the slideshow from the event and watch the video from Channel 11's coverage of the event.
May 10, 2009  -  Our friend Tom Schwarz just returned from a short trip to Germany.  He didn't get to take in any games but he did have the opportunity to make some new footy friends.  Check out a couple of snapshots.
March 29, 2009  -  Fellow STL United FC senior player Frank Trotter scored a trip to Europe to watch both Liverpool and Manchester United in their Champions League (round of 16) 2nd leg play.  He shared some of his pictures with us.  >>Take a look<<
March 14, 2009  -  A great crowd at Barrister's for an early Man U vs LFC game.  The Liverpool fans seemed to outnumber the Manchester United supporters and they were certainly the more vocal as Liverpool beat Manchester United 4:1.  I posted a few pictures from the event...
March 11, 2009  -  Those that could, played hookie, and came out to watch the second leg of the Champions League games at Pujols5 in the Westport Plaza.  The management treated us to a special menu and prices.  The special will be available to all that come out for the remaining CL games.
Some of those that came out to see the Champions League game.

October 18, 2008 -  Hope Solo, WNT's goalkeeper and Olympic Gold Medalist was the guest on the "Saturday Soccer Report" live from Barrister's at noon Saturday 10/18.  Hope will be tending goal for the newly formed Womens Pro Soccer League Saint Louis team.  Welcome to Saint Louis, Hope! >> See some pictures from the event <<
October 1, 2008  -  A dream come true for STL United FC alumni Andy Santos.  In Manchester, England, Andy got to see a Man U game and touch some of the teams coveted silverware.  >>Click here to see a picture of Andrew and Company<<
September 30, 2008 -  Tom makes yet another friend. This is Barry Powers from Liverpool.  He is a 47 year season ticket holder at Anfield.  Tom met him on a Tour Boat around the Nice harbour then watched the Scousers beat United with him at Ma Nolans in Nice, on his Birthday.
August 31, 2008  -  Man U fan?  You will need this team pic for your desktop!
August 30, 2008  -  Home town Olympic and WNT favorite, Lori Chalupny visited with fans and consented to a radio interview from Barrister's on August 30, 2008.  The Olympic Gold Medalist signed autographs and chatted with fans about the team's accomplishments in the 2008 Olympics in Bejing.  Take a look at the pictures.
August 2-3, 2008  -  The STL United Senior team participated in the annual Missouri State Show Me Games again this year.  They widened the field this year and invited all the neighboring states, but it came down to a battle with our arch rivals from Maryland Heights again.  Missed opportunities and bad officiating gave the Maryland Heights Team a 2:1 over the STL United Ironmen spoiling our chance to grab the "Gold" for the third consecutive year.  We managed to play well and have a good time anyway.  Thanks to all of you that participated, especially those that came to support us as spectators.  Take a look at the team picture...
August 1, 2008  -  Long time STL United supporter and friend Andrew Santos is leaving us to go to Germany.  Andrew is probably best remembered for his fanatical allegiance to Manchester United and his work as the UMSL United Club leader.  Good Luck Andy!
Andrew posing for a farewell picture with Tom and Jason.
July 19, 2008  - Tom takes a trip to America's conservative heartland and makes a friend (Yes, he now has one). Best of all, he's a Liverpool fan! Even though Tom's Abilene, KS acquaintance is wearing a Celtic's jersey, he's got an LFC tattoo on his leg. Tom was privileged to see it and is seriously thinking about getting one himself.
